“Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them to become what they are capable of being.” |
This website is devoted to promoting a very simple idea: Be 10% Better. Not necessarily 10% better in everything you do all the time, just a few 10% fixes along your way. That’s it. The concept is so ridiculously simple that it could actually have some legs and make a dent or even change the world. Many people have told me that I’m a ridiculously simple guy, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
Just an idea. No, we’re not asking anybody to come up with a cure for cancer using scrapings from toad warts or figure out a way to make fuel out of peanut butter and toothpicks. We just want people to work on their small, everyday things of life and maybe do them just a little bit better. That by itself would be miracle enough.
The thoughts on this website are meant to spark ideas on how you can improve your life and the world just by making a few things 10% better. Browse around and learn about it then resolve to put it to use in your life. Together, we can change the world. Yes We Can! (That phrase is a tiny bit of a sore spot for me . . . I’m okay. But more about that later.)
Yes We Can! Well, the ellipses of that statement is Be 10% Better. There is nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come. Even an idea that seemed crazy at the time.
At some point all ideas from the wheel, to soap, to traffic lights seemed crazy until they caught on and the world changed. Oh, they all had doubters I’m sure. But history is filled with “crazies” that saw an idea through. Just think of the first guy that drank milk. Not now, but back then crazy right….”See that thing in the field over there. I’m gonna drink whatever comes out of that bag.” Don’t do it Ugg.. Don’t do it.” Well he did and the rest is history. (Oh and I’m really glad that soap thing caught on, too.)
We take this idea seriously, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun too. We hope you accept this information in the same vain, as you think of fun and creative ways to explore and apply the possibilities of this principle in your own world. When you share the idea and I know you will just relax and have a laugh with it!
